"Behind the Scenes" MummersFest
MUMMERSFEST AT THE PENNSYLVANIA CONVENTION CENTER (December 28-31)
Warm up to New Year's Day with activities for the whole family.
Backstage Pass
Discover all the fun and fancy around the Mummers Fancy Brigade Finale on a 50-minute behind-the-scenes private tour at the Convention Center. Experience the excitement as performers hurry to put the finishing touches on floats, assemble their props, and rehearse their steps and struts. A veteran brigade captain will navigate the dozen clubs and themes, and share anecdotes of parading and performing. If the Mummers mood is right, you could be in for an impromptu lesson of the Mummers Strut!
Design Corner
Each New Year's, the Mummers make a festive fashion statement with glitter and gold, shine and shimmer. Get a closer look at the mastermind behind the Mummers magic in a walk-through exhibit of costume renderings and award-winning suits, in all their sequined splendor. Before you're through, chat up a designer to learn the latest trends in costuming.
Costume Party
Wonder what it's like to walk a mile in a Mummer's shoes? Slip 'em on. And while you're at it, try a whole costume on for size. You'll also have a chance to peruse hundreds of authentic costumes featured in previous Fancy Brigade Finales.
Make-and-take activities
It's not everyday you get to strut alongside a Mummer. To keep that experience alive the rest of the year, families and groups are invited to make Mummers keepsakes - great for show and tell.
Practice Makes Perfect
Catch a sneak peak of the performances in store for New Year's Day as Mummers mark time with props and music in a full-scale rehearsal on Tuesday, December 30th at 6:00 p.m. Only the costumes are kept secret for the big January 1 reveal.
Admission is $4 per person. Tickets can be purchased at the door.

Testimonials
I wanted to thank you for sponsoring the MummersFest. We took our grandchildren to it and they loved it. My 4 year old grandson told his teacher he wants to be a Mummer when he grows up.
